When a shutter stops working properly it's almost always the hardware — a hinge, a tilt rod, a louver pin — rather than the panel itself. Often, yes. If the panel still fits the frame and only sticks or rubs, we realign the hinges and adjust the panel so it closes cleanly again. If the wood has swollen so much that the panel no longer fits the opening, a repair may not hold through the next humid summer. Yes, usually. A sagging panel almost always comes down to hinges that have loosened, pulled out of the frame or slipped out of alignment. We tighten or replace the hinges, re-seat the screws and realign the panel so it swings freely and closes flush. The panel itself rarely needs replacing.
Louvers hold their angle through tension, set by a screw, a tension strip or friction pins on the side of the panel. In time that tension loosens and the louvers drift. We adjust or replace the tension hardware so the louvers stay where you set them, and reattach tilt rods that have come loose.

Yes. Hidden tilt shutters have no front tilt rod. The louvers are linked by a metal bar on the back of the panel, and when its clips or connectors break, the louvers stop moving together. We replace the linkage and clips so every louver turns as one again.
